Membership

Membership with ART entitles you to discounts on registration fees for our monthly programs and education workshops. In addition, ART members enjoy access to members-only events and tours, as well as voting privileges for the annual ART Board elections.

Throughout the year, ART organizes, at minimum, two programs per month. We have recently hosted tours and events at some of the following organizations and institutions:

In addition to monthly programs which focus on a particular local cultural institution or a topic related to archives, ART holds at least two educational workshops a year. There are also annual events such as the celebration of New York Archives Week every October, the ART Awards Ceremony, the Holiday Party, and our Year-End Meeting in June. 

ART members can also join monthly, topic-specific discussion groups, where they can brainstorm with their peers about issues that affect them. Our small discussion groups are geared towards specific audiences within the ART community and each meeting focuses on a pre-determined topic

An additional, important benefit in joining ART is the opportunity to network. We are part of a uniquely tight-knit professional community and it is important to meet as many people as possible to encourage professional growth. This will not only help you with your future job searches, but will also provide you with professional resources throughout your career. ART has been around for more than 30 years and represents over 215 repositories; there is a lot of wisdom and experience in the organization. Friends of ART 
$45 per year
This membership level is for people who support the mission and objectives of ART, but who are neither professionally involved with archives nor the teaching or studying of archival theory and principles.

Sponsorship 
$75 per year
This membership level includes acknowledgment in ART's newsletter, Metropolitan Archivist.

Sustaining or Institution 
$150 per year
This membership level includes acknowledgment in ART's newsletter, Metropolitan Archivist, and two free tickets to the annual holiday party

Your membership runs for a year from the date of your joining. Please note that ART, like many small not-for-profit organizations, relies on membership fees to continue offering relevant and diverse resources and opportunities throughout the year.
