XFR Collective (pronounced “transfer”) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that partners with artists, activists, individuals, and groups to lower the barriers to preserving at-risk audiovisual media, particularly vulnerable to obsolescence and decay. XFR Collective will host an open video digitization workshop at Property Is Theft (P.I.T.) where we will walk you through our video digitization rack, how the transfer process works, and how to digitize a videotape. This workshop will not only teach the basics of transferring videotape, but will serve as a demonstration of how our regular community archives workshops operate.
