Join us for a special visit to the New York Public Library. This exclusive viewing will highlight treasures from two collections within the New York Public Library: the Spencer Collection and the Print Collection.

The Spencer Collection offers a global survey of the illustrated word and book bindings across all periods and cultures. Its holdings range from medieval manuscripts, Japanese scrolls, and Indian miniatures to landmark works in Renaissance printing, illustration, and binding, extending to contemporary livres d'artistes.

The Print Collection contains nearly 200,000 original prints, covering the history of art in the West from the 15th century and Japanese prints from the 10th century to the present. The collection includes diverse mediums such as woodcuts, engravings, etchings, lithographs, screenprints, and digital prints. In addition, the collection features illustrated books, artists' books, a small group of drawings, and a specialized reference collection of over 15,000 volumes on the history of prints and printmakers, along with artist clipping files.

This is an in-person event limited to 18 attendees. Registration is non-transferable. Please note that you MUST reserve a ticket in advance online in order to attend this event.

In the occasion that the event is sold out, we highly recommend joining the waitlist. An ART staff member will reach out to you if a spot becomes available. Unless you've been given permission, please do not show up at the event without registering.
