Open House: Milton Glaser Design Study Center & Archives

Milton Glaser Design Study Center & Archives/School of Visual Arts Archives

Please join the Milton Glaser Design Study Center & Archives and the SVA Archives for an Open House on Wednesday, October 26. We will be hosting two sessions at 4pm and 6pm. Each 1-hour session will include a tour of the archives and an introduction to some collection highlights. RSVP required.

The Archives provide a unique opportunity to study the work of the great designers, illustrators, and art directors who’ve taught and studied at SVA. The collections allow visitors to examine the design and illustration process, from conception to completion, through original sketches, artwork, and photographs, as well as the final posters and publications, from more than twenty (and counting) giants of art and design. The Archives is also a place to study the history of SVA, from its subway poster campaign, to its groundbreaking exhibitions by professional and student artists, to faculty and programs dating back to its founding in 1947. We are open to the public by appointment.

There will be two tours, one beginning at 4pm and another beginning at 6pm.
