NDSR-NY 2016 Preservation Week Symposium

WHAT: A day of digital preservation panels and workshops, as part of A.R.T.’s Preservation Week

WHEN: April 28, 2016 from 9 AM to 6 PM

WHERE: Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont St., Brooklyn, NY 11201

WHO: Digital preservation practitioners, students, and anyone hoping to learn more about digital preservation!

The New York National Digital Stewardship Residency cohort invites you to for a day of hands-on workshops, panels and discussions on the topic of digital preservation on April 28, 2016 from 9-6PM at the Brooklyn Historical Society. Breakfast and light refreshments will be served throughout the day.

A full schedule with speaker and pre-workshop preparation information can be found here (this will link out to a Google Sheet in a new tab).  Participants may benefit from bringing a laptop to certain hands-on workshops (as indicated on the spreadsheet), although laptops are not strictly required.

Afterwards, join us for a post-symposium cocktail hour in celebration of Preservation Week, graciously sponsored by the Archivists Round Table of Metropolitan New York (A.R.T.)

Check the NDSR-NY symposium website for updates.  We’ll also be posting news/updates under the #getdigital2016 tag on social media.

If you are a person with a disability and require special accommodations to attend this event, please notify education@nycarchivists.org.  Special needs requests will be compiled for our host.

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
