Janet Bunde, Vice President/President Elect
Janet has served as the Assistant University Archivist and Archivist of the John
Brademas Congressional Papers at New York University since 2007. Her professional
interests and areas of research include advocacy, archival standards, and incorporating
archival materials into educational instruction. Janet previously served as A.R.T.'s
Director of the Advocacy and Outreach Committee (2012-2013). In that position, she
helped to shape the Archives Education Institute, a day-long workshop held during New
York Archives Week for local archivists and K-12 educators that seeks to incorporate
local archival materials into classroom instruction.
Janet also serves as co-chair of the Diversity Task Force for the Society of American Archivists' (SAA) Congressional Papers Roundtable and is the co-author of the "Standards for Archival Description" module in Archival Arrangement and Description, published by SAA in 2013. She also has co-authored several articles and book chapters on teaching with primary sources at the
K-12 and college levels.
