HOW TO PLAN, CURATE AND MARKET AN ARCHIVAL EXHIBIT

(For easier printing, a PDF Version of this announcement is also available here)

Workshop Description:

Most archivists have been asked at some point in their careers to display some of their institution’s treasures.  The inclination to share documents, prints and other archived formats with a larger audience is in fact a broader goal to providing access to such historical information.  For those who have not had the opportunity to develop an exhibit, the many parameters of creating an historical exhibit from conception to visual experience will be offered during this afternoon workshop.  Topics to be presented include the development, refinement and presentation of ideas to organizational management, development of an exhibition budget, the need to purchase or borrow display equipment, market the exhibit to targeted audiences, and to plan related events.
