Biography

Tamar Zeffren is Senior Processing Archivist at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC),
the world’s leading Jewish humanitarian organization. Previously, she worked at the Center for Jewish
History, the New York Public Library, the Partnership for Higher Education in Africa, and the International
Partnership for Service Learning and Leadership. She studied literature and medieval history at Barnard
and received her master’s in Archival Management from NYU. She is an active member of A.R.T. and the
Society of American Archivists, and presented on a panel entitled "Archival Theory and Religious
Thought" at the 2012 SAA Annual Meeting.
