A planning development organization with a collection of over 25,000 books, reports, etc. needs a top to bottom analysis of the costs and labor required to catalogue and (selectively) digitize its collection. The consultant will be responsible for writing up recommendations in a final report which the organization can use in its search for funding for this project.
The consultant’s report should include the following:

The actual size of each section of the archive (books, reports, primary documents)
-
What extra storage equipment needs to be purchased
-
What cataloguing software should be bought
-
How long it will take to catalogue each section
-
Where the work should begin
-
Timetable for cataloguing each section
-
What the labor requirement will be for cataloguing
-
Labor costs for cataloguing
-
Which parts of the archive should be digitized
-
Labor requirement for digitization work
-
How much it would cost to outsource the digitization
-
Any other considerations which the consultant feels are relevant to the project
